As a trainee lawyer, Afonso Almeida Luís helps advance the firm’s work across financial markets and public law, contributing to research, drafting, and case preparation while receiving close training from Gama Glória’s lawyers.
His experience so far has included supporting projects on employee incentive plans, assisting with the preparation of procedures manuals to align companies with new regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), and contributing to research on the EU’s regulation of crypto-assets (MiCA). His academic background in both law and political science equips him to approach legal issues with awareness of the institutions and agendas behind them.
Afonso has completed intensive training in arbitration and distinguished himself in moot court competitions, earning recognition as both a finalist and best speaker.
He holds a law degree from the University of Lisbon (2023) and a degree in Political Science and International Relations from NOVA University Lisbon (2020). Beyond the firm his interests include architecture, arts, and design.
