Maria Beatriz Carmo helps clients navigate competition law, EU regulation, and cross-border legal issues where strategic choices carry regulatory and commercial impact.

She advises business associations, multinational companies, and financial services providers on how to manage competition law risk, meet compliance obligations, and position effectively in evolving EU policy landscapes. Her recent work includes designing a practical compliance guide for an industry association, advising a global mobility platform on competition law queries, and drafting a position paper to support a company as it enters the European digital identity field.

Beatriz also conducts in-depth research on State aid, restrictive practices, and no-poach matters, providing clients with clear assessments to guide strategic decisions. Her background includes legal research and policy engagement at both national and international level, giving her a multi-layered perspective on how law is made, interpreted, and applied.

She holds a law degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon (2021), a master's in international law and global governance from Tilburg University (2023), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law and Regulation from the University of Lisbon (2024). She has also completed a Summer Course in Private International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law (2024).
